Work on experimenting with mangoes started in the 1980s in Auckland. Since then Ben has selected, grown and refined varieties specifically suited to New Zealand conditions — trialling everything from soil preparation to winter management, greenhouse design to grafting techniques.
Ben's latest selection includes varieties found to have much better disease resistance and cold tolerance than earlier introductions. Every tree we sell carries that knowledge with it.
